As President and Principal Broker of Potomac River, Realtors®, Phil Cefaratti is leading the charge in the DC area as a real estate professional best-versed in contract knowledge, negotiation skills, local market knowledge, and in-depth understanding of business modeling and finance. 

Prior to starting his own firm in 2014, Cefaratti began his real estate career in 2007 with Weichert, Realtors® in Old Town Alexandria. While there, he earned Rookie of the Year honors and was selected to serve as Managing Broker of Weichert’s Great Falls Virginia office in 2010 after demonstrating exceptional sales and leadership skills. 

Previously, he worked as Director of Business Development for Sentori, a software and services provider in the wireless industry. Before joining Sentori, Mr. Cefaratti provided corporate finance, business development, contracts expertise, and project management services as an independent consultant with companies such as Vaultus, a wireless content provider; CMGI, an Internet incubator; and Legato Systems, a disaster recovery software company. Prior to consulting, Cefaratti was the Aide to the CEO of Force Computers, a leader in the embedded computer market. Additionally, he worked for Lockheed Martin as a contracts manager. 

Cefaratti served our country as an officer in the United States Navy on both active duty and in the reserves for 14 years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. His awards include the Joint Services Commendation Medal, Joint Services Achievement Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with bronze star, among others. He deployed aboard the USS Austin (LPD-4) during the first Gulf War. Serving a joint tour with the Defense Logistics Agency, he was one of the first military officers to achieve DAWIA Level 2 certification in government contracts.

Phil Cefaratti is a sixth-generation Washingtonian with lifelong roots in northern Virginia. He graduated from St. Anselm’s Abbey School where he appeared on “It’s Academic” through the team’s semifinal run. He earned a B.A. in English with minors in Accounting and Philosophy from The Catholic University of America, where he played intercollegiate baseball, and an M.B.A. from Georgetown University in International Business. Cefaratti is also a two-time finisher of the Marine Corps Marathon in 1999 and 2001.  

He is a past president of the Seminary Ridge Civic Association, in Alexandria, Virginia, and has focused his charitable efforts on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in support of his nephew and godson, Anthony Clinton.
